Anno’s Africa SNOWDON CLIMB - MAY 3rd
A group of Anno’s Africa’s supporters climbed Yr Swyddfa (Mount Snowdon) on Wednesday May 3rd to raise money for our projects in Kenya and Malawi. It was a brilliant day - weather sublime - with 25 climbers making it to the summit, including 5 over 70’s and 20 wonderful younger volunteers aged 12 to 69. We are super grateful to our brilliant friend and guide, Tom who was our complete hero, helping us up and down - and to Angel Alice Dougles who hosted us at her beautiful home , St Curig’s Church, Capel Curig, with fantastic generosity! Our partners, Syrcus Cimera, also trecked to the top with us with two peformers on stilts assisted by their fellow acrobats for some of the most difficult stretches along the way. They plan to take a large group of stiltwakers up the LLanberis path in August for our Anno’s Africa’s Malawi project, the first time anyone has attempted the climb on strap-on stilts! .
Photos and videos are on the way and if you want to support us “post climb” you can go to the Just Giving link below — https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/70sYrWyddfa
Karen, Bee, Kate and Daisy completed their sponsored swim on 15th October! The water was a mere 9 degrees, but the sun shone down on the Bathing Belles’ endeavours, who have raised a phenomenal £4000 thanks to the generous support of our friends and supporters - THANK YOU ALL!
Anno’s Africa, Cimera Circus and friends (around 25 intrepid climbers) made it to the summit of the Elephant mountain in Snowdonia on Saturday 25th August. Donations are still coming in so if you would like to help us to raise funds for the Malawi and Kenya programmes for next year you can still give via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cimera or via the Anno's Africa just giving page, or directly to our Anno’s Africa Lloyds bank account - details on our donate page.
We want to thank the wonderful people who organised this event for us - namely Kate, Keith and Iago from Cimera, their fabulous friends and our brilliant trustee Hayley Mills, who were all involved in making it such a terrific success.
